In an attempt to provide you with the same pleasure of using the game controller for viewing web pages, scrolling with a mouse, opening and closing applications on computers, JoyToKey brings an innovative product. This can emulate your keyboard using the controllers on your joystick to act as key presses and mouse. The controls on the stick is converted into keystrokes depending upon some rules that you need to get a hang of in order to use it comfortably.
It is simple to setup your joystick using the application where you need to create profiles for using the sticks and buttons and associate them to the keys on your keyboard. This is the content of the Main Window of JoyToKey.
The Button Assignment window allows you to specify the details the functioning, that is the key presses on the keyboard. Each joystick button can be either assigned to a key press or a mouse click that can also be assigned to multiple key presses like Alt+F4, for example.
- There is an Auto Setting Wizard that allows you to set the key presses and mouse click automatically based on most essential key strokes used and required during normal operations.
Finally, it also allows you to assign independent profiles to specific applications such as the web browser or the media player, and you can create a completely different profile with a different set of keystrokes for another application.
When you are short of sticks and buttons on your controller, you can also enable a virtual set of buttons and keys and use a single button as a Shift+ key to access those virtual set of controls.
- This is very helpful when you want to set keys that are e.g. 10 keys to be assigned but only 6 buttons on your controller.
This increases the productivity of your controller without any extra overload because everything is controlled by the software that changes the emulations based on the preset profiles. There is no coding required to make these changes and it is completely based on a minimal and simple GUI.
